A Black Girl’s World

Black girls face unique challenges and experiences due to their race and gender. They may face discrimination and prejudice from both society at large and within their own communities. They may also experience microaggressions, such as being told they are "pretty for a black girl" or being assumed to be less intelligent or capable than their non-black peers.
